Recording to Tape - Nashville Tracking Session
Crazy cool experience getting to record to tape on a tracking session here in Nashville this week! A stellar cast of musicians and engineers gathered at the renowned 'Welcome To 1979' studio in the Nations neighborhood to capture some pure analog goodness. It's probably in my head but there is something different (in a good way) about recording to actual tape.
If you all are into these kinds of videos please let me know in the comments! This was all done kind of half hazard with an iPhone on the fly...just trying to share some cool experiences with people that are curious about Recording/Nahville/Guitar/Gear...all the good stuff.
If you need your song recorded or guitar on your song, I have a full remote production team here in Nashville, TN.

So in Starstruck, would a band hypothetically be able to get amps isolated and have each amp both close-mic’d and room mic’d, with same for drums and bass?

First of all; good video man and I love that Gibson version that's sitting on your lap,Don't see those too often. 2nd As a christian musician myself, A lot of Christians that are in the Christian music scene are not in the Christian world as well, Their conversion is somewhere else, not 100% christian. It appears that Christians that are really honest, are controlled by the industry.Where as christians that are contrary , make better lyrics, really weird.

starting a family is cool - I must have missed that the first time I watched it, 12:25 that is some very good news. Then you can have a little Nicky V. to train and show how to do guitar, whether a girl or a boy - happy for you, hope you can get more settled and to have a family too. My wife and I met in 2001 and a 5 yr honeymoon, then our first child born in June 2006, and now he is 18 yrs old - with longer hair than you :) he isn't a musician, but he listens to music 24/7 it seems. Anyways - hope to meet sometime, and hope the best for you and your wife. We have 4 kids, ages 7, 10, 13 (daughter), and our 18 yr old - 3 boys, 1 girl. Being a dad, father is the best life out there, and a good husband - family life is the best (my opinion). Thanks for all of your work, and sharing very interesting stuff. Your videos are good enough to even watch 2 or 3 times - which I don't find with hardly anyone out there. Ha ha - coolness, have a good day. Tim from rural Gleason, TN.

I was a worship guitarist in my local church and also rock band during my teenage days. But currently working with kids a very low key, nobody notice you, no glamour, no fame, no money, no appreciation, nothing ....but then i always remember at the end of the day you are serving a supernatural god which human eyes cant see, am not doing for some human or following instructions to please people or organization. If i want out i can but am volunteering for past 10 years now. One thing i learn as i walk with lord "there are lots of hypocrisy in church but so as in work place, school or community and even in within own family". Therefore we cant always expect church goer are holy and good people.. they are equally bad or worst even then non believers. Its all about our intention and attitude towards god. Low keys become part of every walk of our life and somehow give us wisdom and matured us beyond our age. But i tell you being low key is not everyone cup of tea especially in this mordern age where we wanted to be recognized for everything we do.

In the 80s I was in a cover band. For around 6 or 7 yrs I played pretty much every weekend in bars and weddings. We made 150 to 200 each per weekend in bars and 250 each for a wedding. I made 7.00 per hr during the week framing houses. I brought home 190.00 after 40 hrs. Today the bar band guys I know are making the same money or less. I was killing it in the 80s. No way I would play 4/45 min sets for two nights for 150 today.

I’m glad you have also had the opportunity to be around real Christian’s. Turning to Christ is the best decision I have ever made . It doesn’t mean fun has ended , but rather just begun . There are things and places I may not frequent any more . But it’s not because of religious pressures . But it’s because when Jesus came into my life it changed me . I no longer want to drink and run the street and chase women. .lol God gave me an awesome wife and I got need to chase something less ! Anyway thank you for sharing .
